February brought both challenges and progress to our community. We partnered with the Uganda Red Cross to educate residents about Ebola and mpox, holding several community awareness events.
We also focused on education, providing scholastic materials to 50 children at our community school, making a real difference in their studies. We're excited to announce we've opened a community school for vulnerable children, currently serving 56 lower primary pupils! Our dedicated staff of 7 are passionate about serving these children.
Due to limited resources, many children are unable to have lunch, as an alternative we offer porridge to each student. We're grateful for your support, which makes all this possible. Thank you!

Take a look at all the students about $100 can help! This subsidized approximately 50% of the school fees for 6 vulnerable children in order for them to remain in school. It also helped to cover scholastic materials (notebooks, pencils, markers, etc) for about 30 children.

Jason led the group of students in various community projects, including improving education and healthcare in rural areas. Both Jason and Logan reflected on how the trip broadened their perspectives on poverty, privilege, and the importance of global service. The experience deepened their understanding of resilience and empathy, with Jason highlighting the value of such immersive learning opportunities for students.

Our recent fundraiser made a real difference for Ugandan schoolchildren at Christ the King Primary. We were able to cover a quarter of school fees for three children, easing the financial burden on their families. Beyond fees, we provided essential scholastic materials like books and pens to many pupils, with the help of school staff and grateful parents. This support was especially vital given the economic hardships caused by COVID-19. We're thankful for everyone who contributed to making this positive impact.

With funds from a recent fundraiser, Medanfo Africa was able to purchase a laptop computer as well as rent out a space for the team to work out of. Investing in these will greatly decrease the amount of time/funds that is spent utilizing local internet cafes. Thank you to all who donated!

We have been able to provide two new pieces of clothing for more than 15 vulnerable children in the community who have been previously wearing old, worn-out clothes.

This week the team went from home to home in the area to help collect information about the children living there. This information will help the organization to identify each’s child’s needs going into the new school year.

Our founder, Jessy, was referred to an area in Uganda called Gadumire Kaliro District. Children in this area were having to walk long distances to school. So by pooling together resources, a piece of land was able to be secured in order to build a pavilion-like school on it - cutting down travel time for many students.
